With a background in painting, drawing, and printmaking, Lee utilizes her skills through an artistic process that blends collage, pasting, and handicraft amongst other methodologies. Images that come from both her reality and subconscious appear in curved and straight lines, flower petals and sharp geometric patterns, creating an illusion of space. Additionally, she uses a plethora of materials ranging from acrylic, air brush and ink to glitter, tissue paper and colored paper. Having lived abroad for many years, the artist’s complex mix of emotions can be located through her varied use of mediums and visuals; aspects of fantasy and yearning express the artist’s candid internal world. The works become intricate in that they offer both structural integrity and poetic symbolism.
