In her recent series Radiator Theatre, Jang paints small three-dimensional sets and shapes them into an environment, which she later photographs. These works display abstract forms narrated in a visual language that is personal to the artist’s process and experience. The ‘characters’ of these sets symbolically express wordplay, rhymes, lies, and exaggerations through their lyrical shapes and soothing colors. In this sense, Jang’s works are poetic and minimal, recalling the words that we speak and visualize in our everyday lives.
