CHOI Eun Bi
(b. Korea)
CHOI Eun Bi is a painter whose works discuss the relationship between an artist and her work.

Through her artistic process, Choi creates paintings that are comprised of both purposeful and accidental strokes. Layers of paint build upon one another to form faces, dots, and lines that construct a formless presence overall. The agency of each stroke pays homage to the acts of touching and creating, as well as emphasizing the sincere decisions of the artist. In this way, the artist longs to discover multiple spaces within one frame. By locating these “inter-spaces” within her brushstrokes, Choi uses the canvas to project her sensibilities and emotions.

Choi Eun Bi was born in Korea. In 2016 she received her BFA from Dongduk Women’s University, and in 2018 she received her MFA from Hongik University. The artist held her first solo exhibitions in 2018 at artbn and Gallery DOS in Seoul. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions since 2016 in the renowned Seoul galleries: DDP, The Indian Art Museum, Hongik University Art Center, and Hongik University Museum of Contemporary Art.
