Rajeesh SAROVAR

Sarovar usually portrays the ordinary village people of South India, especially that of Kerala State. He takes keen interest in the greenery and the mundane life. Their living conditions, attitudes, beliefs, character, interests, myths – all become his subjects of art. All the paintings are in the narrative mode while the pictorial language is distorted tendency. He takes special care to observe the local people with a great understanding of human nature. Sarovar also concentrates on depicting the beautiful nature of Kerala, villages, with use of colors from nature, and speaks about the relationship between man and nature. He tries to connect the past, present and the future. The portraits remind of the poverty of the past, growth of the present and speaks about the future.

Born in Kerala, India, Rejeesh Sarovar received BA from Collage of Fine Arts Kerala Trivandrum in 2013. His works have been exhibited by numerous curated shows in India and Korea, including “Contested terrain” Collatural Show of Kochi Musiris Binnale in Hallegua Hallegua Jewtown at Tangerine Art Space, Bangalore in 2012 ;  Hanging terraces at Gallery Vedha Chennai in 2013 ; ‘Watermark’ Degree Show College of Fine Arts Trivandrum in 2013 ; 42th State Exhibition by Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy at DurbarHall in Kochi in2013 ; 43 State Exhibition by Kerala Academy in 2014; ‘ASYAAF’,  Seoul South Korea (Asian Student and Young Artist festival ); Pune Binnale at Balgandharva Gallery in Pune in 2015.
