In the works of Yan Heng, the artist speaks about his own sensitivity to society and unstable emotions, while simultaneously questioning painting, his personal experiences and social ideologies. His work is inspired by his ordinary and everyday life, as he combines people and personal incidents in his work's narrative. Coupling with his imagination, Yan visualizes inner desires, ironies and ceaseless conflicts that relate to the contemporary 21st century and the need to survive in these fast-paced times.
