Mar. 4 – May 28, 2017 @The Young Eun Museum of Contemporary Art
NEW COLLECTION SHOW “NEW ENCOUNTER” at the Young Eun Museum of Contemporary Art in Korea is featuring diverse media art works including paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, video and craft works, which have been collected by the museum. Especially, thirty-one art works by twenty-six artists joining the museum shows between 2013 and 2015 were selected since the Young Eun Museum’s inauguration in Nov. 2000.
JAMIE LEE, Everything will be alright, 130.5x152cm, Acrylic and mixed media on canvas, paper installation, 2014
Jamie LEE’s ‘Everything will be alright’ was re-installed for the show where her painting work with lightly hand-cut papers reminds of her multifarious memories from personal dreams and journeys in US and Korea.
Seungyea PARK’s “I am the everything(study)” is a drawing of familiar but odd portrait of the artist herself through which she tries to unveil the inconsistency between the inner side and appearance of human being.
An artist duo THE BITE BACK MOVEMENT from England, Seungyoun LEE and Alexander Augustus, is bringing the viewers into the work entitled “Oh My GOD” with some expected different stories of churches in Korea transcending its original role.
The museum curator said that the show will be such a great review of its past shows where the visitors shares the artists’ messages and appreciate the works once again.
